Niall Christie received his PhD in Islamic History from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, in 2000. He then held post-doctoral positions at the University of Toronto and Cornell University before moving to Vancouver, where he has taught History, Religious Studies, and Art History at UBC, SFU, Langara College and Corpus Christi College.
